I have to say I thought, "Are these guys crazy? Opening a frozen custard stand on the brink of winter." There were always lines, no matter how cold. I finally tried it not that long ago, and its delicious. I had a regular old chocolate malt. Thick and chocolaty. The one negative: pricey. For a chocolate malt and a milkshake it was over $10. I felt like Vincent Vega when my wife's milkshake was over $5. Just like he said in the movie "That's a f-ing good milkshake."

I went on a very hot day and got me a nice sundae to cool off...
(4)Michael T.
Andy's is good but not great. The custard is very good but it is super expensive. I'm talking $7 for a banana split. If I'm spending that kind of cash, you'll find me at Oberweis.
(3)Gina W.
Went here after hearing from numerous people this place was great. Had the ozark sundae, strawberry cheesecake sundae, and the kids vanilla cone. Everything was awesome!! Plus it was cheap!
(5)Kevin O.
So good. In short, Andy's is awesome. Custard or what have you never impressed me much at least until the fam and I stumbled upon Andy's. We went to the Boilingbrook location forever until the mental begging for Andy to open a local shop made its way to none other than Andy, I guess. And thank god he listened. This location is close, clean and consistently serves up creamy perfection in a cup. I won't name names but the competition (think butterburgers) has nothing on this place. You have to try it to believe it.
(5)Steve O.
I have been here three times and each time the quality is superb. The employees were friendly as well. I have only bought concretes. The prices are a tad high but definitely worth it for the quality. I edge them above Culver's now.
(5)Jason A.
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place! I used to love Culver's concrete mixers, but Andy's "frozen concrete" or whatever they call it is SO MUCH BETTER! It's a softer custard, and it's loaded with whatever ingredient you choose. I chose cheesecake, and every single bite was loaded with it! It's even better than a DQ cheesequake blizzard! Although it's not much cheaper than DQ, it's much better.
(4)David B.
Just go. Its yummy and fairly priced and you get to watch the "interesting" way the custard is dispensed. Much thicker than creamy whip. More flavors would be great but this is classic.
(4)Liz W.
Ice cream...good Gelato...great Andy's frozen custard...amazing! Chocolate concrete with strawberries, brownies, and cheesecake yummmm!!! Yes it will cost you about $5 or more, but the portion size is huge. I can't even finish the whole thing. The only reason why I'm taking off a star is because they should offer a portion half the size of a small and charge $3. I wouldn't feel bad for throwing out almost half a frozen custard. Oh and Andy's open up some more locations!
(4)Dan E.
So I'm a little late with the my reviews. Its 40 degrees outside but I was at Andy's during warmer weather. But I guess the cooler weather doesn't matter because Alaska has the highest per capita ice cream consumption and that's in the winter. Anyway I just get plain old vanilla in a cup. Good stuff. Its a nice alabaster white color. I thought custard has egg yolk in it - so shouldn't it be yellow? I checked the ingredient list and there indeed is egg yolk in it. I checked their website and they are a chain out of the SW part of Missouri.
(4)Javier C.
This place is awesome, it beats any other ice cream shops around the area just because it is a different class of ice cream, its frozen custard. This stuff tastes fresh, is thicker than ice cream, and has smooth rich texture. The times ive been here, ive ordered a custom concrete cup with Oreo, peanuts, and cookie dough mixed together which came out ridiculous, it was off the hook. I am a big fan of this place so far, only con about this place is that it is a little pricey, for a medium concrete cup it was around $7 if i recall. One of my favorite spots so far besides cold stone in Oak lawn area. Try you some.
(4)Michael S.
Ted Drewes in St. Louis... Andy's here... Honestly, when custard is this rich and delicious I know my girlfriend is happy, but I am left wondering about the calories and fat. It's really good here with the custard being really, really rich and good if you eat it plain. The concretes though are overkill delicious. I'm glad it's not that close as it's just too good!
(4)Melissa B.
I had some time to kill in the area, and of course spent it eating! The last time I was headed to Midway this place caught my eye. I had a feeling I'd be back. When my mom and I walked in we were instantly greeted by the friendly employees. They quickly realized it was our first visit and went over the (huge) menu with us. We both decided on vanilla custard with a raspberry topping. We both ordered a small and I felt we could even of split that. I would never drive out of my way for this place, but it's a great option in the area!
(4)Alba R.
By far the BEST CUSTARD in town! To say that I love it, is an understatement! As a matter of fact a couple days ago I had a dream about Andy's Custard! The custard is made hourly, it is so delicious and fresh! They offer a variety of choices, such as: sundaes, custard in a cup, custard in a cone etc.. If your into toppings then this is your place, they offer 32 choices to select from. My favorite dessert is the original strawana with roasted pecans, its delicious! (This location does not offer food only treats) It is pretty pricey, but worth every penny!
(5)Karyn R.
Oh, Andy's. As if singing your praises in my initial review weren't enough; I'm here with an update to bump you up a star and conclude that you are, in fact, as good as it gets. What kicked Andy's up that last little notch? Andy's completely owns my heart for being Autism friendly. What does autism friendly mean? It means that we can roll in with half-a-dozen kids on the autism spectrum, take for-ev-er to order using various picture icons and devices, and then take over almost all available seating (my boys require quite a bit of personal space). The Andy's crew? Totally keep it real. None of that high-pitched, sing-songy nonsense when speaking to my kids. They treat my boys as if they are any other customer. This is huge in our world and super endearing. Thanks for being amazing and accommodating, Andy's. Those of us who require such things definitely recognize the goods you have going. And we will be back--and spread the word!
(5)Danielle S.
This place is mmm-mmm good! They have concretes (basically really thick shakes), jackhammers (concretes with your favorite topping in the middle), sundaes, shakes, cones, etc. They don't have a lot of flavors to choose from (everything is mostly made from chocolate or vanilla), but they have a lot of toppings. It is thick and creamy and oh so yummy! They have a drive-through, a very clean interior, and quick service. You can also see the custard being made fresh in the machines- so you know it's gotta be good!
(4)Andy M.
Some of the best ice cream in the area and it also has the greatest name there is. I also like the particular corner where this nplace is located and wish there were more Andy's in my area instead of Dairy Queen.
(4)Lina P.
Love this place!!! yummmy custard... my family and i love this place
(5)G R.
Blink, blink! Is that new? Yes it is and I want some, and it's so good I'll finish this review later. In short, it's custard it's really good, they're lined up so get over here if you're nearby.
(5)Courtney O.
In late summer of 2009, I had my first taste of Andy's at the Bolingbrook location. Now, let me state in no uncertain terms that I HATE frozen custard. Hate it. Can't stand the taste, loathe the mouth-feel, and so on. Well, I should say hateD it. Or more appropriately, still hate it ALL--except for Andy's. One trip to the Bolingbrook location turned me into a custard convert; it was excellent, fresh, with a flavorful taste and no greasy mouth-feel. In short, if you're looking for frozen custard that will legit knock your socks off, this is where you want to be. One bite of Andy's and you will never, ever, ever want the competitors' junk (and I use the term "junk" generously) again. Ever. Andy's is the way to go. That being said, this was our first visit to the new (and so much closer, thankfully!) Andy's in Oak Lawn. I had a cookie dough concrete, and my husband had a cookie dough jackhammer with peanut butter. My son elected for his tried and true "cup of cold stuff with M&M's an a cherry" (he is four, after all :). My girls were with my mom, so they had to miss out, although we did promise our older daughter a special trip since we knew she'd be forlorn. Shouldn't that tell you something right there? The fact that my three year old daughter--after an afternoon of being ridiculously spoiled by grandma--was still forlorn by the lack of frozen custard in her life? Yup, it's like that. It's *that* good. Of course, we were not disappointed. If you're not familiar, Andy's only serves their frozen custard within 60 minutes of coming out of the machine. So you're eating fresh--really and truly fresh--frozen custard with every trip to the establishment. I've probably enjoyed Andy's at least thirty times and I've never once noticed a decline in quality. It's always been top notch and in economic times such as these, if you want a treat, you want to know, to be completely assured--that it will be worth every penny and then some. Andy's can guarantee you that--you will not be disappointed. In short, I can't recommend Andy's enough, truly. The Oak Lawn location is as fantastic as the Bolingbrook one (if not more so, because it's so much closer ;) and if you haven't experienced the frozen delight that is Andy's, you definitely need to get there. And fast. And pick one up for me, too. Whatever you think I'd like. Which is everything, really. Yep.
(5)Don J.
This is the best place to get frozen custard in the Chicagoland area. I would not even waste my time with ice cream anymore. The custard is made fresh and I was told they remake it every hour and whatever is leftover is thrown out to keep it fresh. The staff is always kind and this place is always packed. Love it. It is more expensive than your dollar shop sundae but worth every penny.
(5)Mike A.
they got great custard But its over priced... I go there once every 2 months..
(2)Chris D.
I like the premise, start with two flavors and develop great creations from excellent mix-ins. Anyplace where an applie pie shake involves an actual piece of apple pie blended in... People say it's pricey, but it depends. The basic cones and sundaes are good and not a bad price. The shakes are expensive, but they're also huge in my opinion. My kids love this place.

3 stars: A-OK. It kind of reminded me of walking into the ice cream version of In-N-Out with the whole white and red tile theme, the drive thru, and the bright lights inside. But then I looked at the menu, which is far more diverse than that of In-N-Out, and far pricier to boot. Maybe it's an issue of semantics, but frozen custard is just another way of saying ice cream. Don't come here and expect some strange, cold pudding-like substance that you've never encountered before as you will be sorely disappointed. We had a few different things here, and the chocolate flavor is pretty rich and satisfying. The vanilla is alright too, but I had the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer and the peanut butter and hot fudge kind of overpower the vanilla flavor. It's definitely not cheap. It's pretty much $5 or more per person, so you could conceivably spend more on frozen treats than the meal you ate just before you decided to roll up here to grab some dessert; either inside, or at the drive through window. I wasn't exactly inspired to write poetry after trying the ice cream here, but it wasn't bad by any means. I'm just not certain I'd rather eat a medium concrete / jackhammer / milkshake at this place vs. buying two pints of Haagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerry's at the supermarket. If the custard was something along the lines of frozen pudding, and was substantially different in texture or flavor than ice cream, it might be worth it, but with that being said, I'd not go out of my way to eat Andy's.
(3)Scott J.
It was 100 degrees outside today. Then, when I saw that big spinning ice cream cone mirage' I knew we needed nourishment. So, I stopped in at Andy's Frozen Custard shop with my son. I ordered a medium Blackberry Concrete and Kelly ordered a medium Ozark Turtle and two chilled bottles of water. We waited about 40 seconds. Then the frozen deliciousness was in our hands. Then it was in our mouths. Then...moans of cooling relief, smiles and exploding, taste satisfaction!!! Blackberries have 15 times more anti-oxidants than any other berry. I kept saying to myself, like Bill Cosby and his chocolate cake, that this is good for me, made with eggs, milk, and blackberries--a scrumptious frozen meal of a sort. If you've got a hot date, a hot wife, or you are just hot and tired, take a meal break at Andy's.

I'm always one of the first suckers to walk into a new place to try it out...unfortunately this location is by my job and opened late summer last year and had to wait until winter to finally get in there bc of their long lines! It was definitely worth the wait! Like others have mentioned, I have never been a fan of custard, Culver's is probably the only thing close to this place, and I hate custard bc of them. But the custard here is just awesome! So smooth and good! They have 2 ginormous mixers - 1 mixes vanilla, and the other chocolate - and they make their sundaes, shakes, concretes and jackhammers with them. While a little on the pricey side, they give generous portions and a regular sundae or small concrete will be enough to fill one's belly! While they offer some preselected choices, you can also make your own concoction using the ingredients they offer. Service is really fast - whether it's placed inside or through drive thru - your sweet tooth will be satisified. Andy's has successfully taken my formerly #1 fave, Coldstone!

I decided today to go and see what all the hype was with this place. I have to say that not ever having frozen custard before I kinda liked it. I am a huge believer that to give the best review you need to sometimes go back to the basics. This is particularly true with a place like this. I decided to get a med. Vanilla cone and I thought it was really good. Not a whole bunch of flavor but I enjoyed the texture and the serving size was pretty generous. To sum it up would I go back here again? Maybe if I was with other folks who wanted to go here but in my opinion if I have an ice cream craving there are a few places I would rather go to first.
(3)Ashley C.
I have never been a major fan of custard. I actually thought it was like ice cream, lite, and sucked. Until today. I was in the area, and as my throat was aching terribly from getting over a nasty bug, I wanted something cool and soothing to taste. I went to Andy's and got regular vanilla custard with chocolate syrup and roasted pecans. YUMMYYY! I didn't get chocolate because my tastebuds were fried, but I cannot wait to try it! The facility was clean, staff was friendly, despite my taking a while to decide what exactly I wanted which I admit was my fault for trying to figure out a way to add in all the toppings...and then just to get something relatively simple. But I think they are amazing for dealing with me, and delivering on some great custard that definitely won me over. But I won't be eating any other custard except Andy's. Whomever he is, I say thank you.

Andy's Frozen Custard in Oak Lawn has officially become my family's ice cream place surpassing our previous favorite - Culver's. Obviously the ice cream is great, but the service is very quick and efficient and better yet professional! In my last experience my daughter asked the girl behind the counter "Why do they call it a Stolen Brownier?" Instead of shrugging her off or ignoring her she actually played along which made my daughter real happy. There are a ton of different places we could choose to go to for ice cream but actions like this seal the deal...and hence, Andy's Frozen Custard in Oak Lawn is the BEST!
(5)Baby Bear H.
I returned to Andy's again today for my free cone. It was cold, sweet, wet and good. Nothing wonderful to rave over but for a quick snack, place to hang with friends on a warm night it works.
(3)C B.
I love this ice cream, yes the prices are a Little high but they give you a big portion and a even bigger portion depending on the number of your toppings. The Best part for me as a mother is that they have a baby cone (sample cone) which is an amazing thing (at least for my 2yr old) :) .
(4)Logan S.
Good stuff. Surprisingly good hot fudge sauce, very fresh nuts and add-ons (should be; the turnover in this place is HUGE) and fun, friendly servers. Hate the long lines, but everyone's good-natured about it and they do move super-fast. No, it's not Cupid or Margie's, but what they do, they do well. And, did I mention the place is darn near pristine?
(5)Ivanka R.
LOVE THIS PLACE! The best custard I have ever tried! My fave is strawberry-banana sundae! I've also tried turtle sundae-it's delicious! This is definitely a must try place for all ice-cream lovers!!!
(5)Kim T.
I was in the Oak Lawn area and saw Andy's. I gave it a try but I was disappointed. I had a marshmallow malt and it was not good. The price of the malt/shake you expect a great product. I have been to different states and tasted better. I will say the place was clean and the service was good.
(2)Jackie T.
Amazing custard !! I always get the raspberry sundae . Everything there is so fresh . And you have so many toppings you can choose from you'll always be happy with whatever you get . And its not expensive at all for what you are getting. Plus the workers go really fast so you get what you want in a short time.
(5)Edward R.
After always wanting to try this place today is the day I decided to go. Very clean and it was nice and cool inside. Since it was my first time I ordered the large chocolate custard. It was great! I loved the rich chocolate flavor. It was thick and creamy. I defiantly will be returning to try their other treats! As I'm a big fan of soft serve this place is off the hook! Thicker, creamer and taste better than any soft serve I've ever had. Swing by Andy's for great frozen treats!
(5)Dominic L.
When this place first opened I thought it would flop, just like its taco shop predecessor that occupied the same spot. Boy was I wrong. The only reason its not getting 5 stars is because I had to clean our own table off before sitting down. Hire more people to keep the place tidy!! Frozen custard and concrete were excellent. They also have car shows here during the summer. Nice addition to oak lawn
(4)Lupe G.
...Um, you know it's good if everyone coming out of there is freaking huge; THEY KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE! ; b The small serving's more than plenty. It is a little bit sweet, but SO worth it!
(4)Esther G.
The custard is a rich, smooth, tasty goodness. My friend and I split a small chocolate custard with strawberries and bananas -- and it was more than enough for the two of us. There's something about the combination of chocolate and strawberries that goes so well together. My only minor grief is how extremely bright the fluorescent lights are inside!
(4)Eric G.
Good ice cream love the turtle sundaes. They aren't cheap om the toppings. Plenty of pecans and the service is good. Definitely make sure you stop in.
(5)Alisa M.
Still a fan after all this time. Decided to stop by here on my way driving home from the city. The line was out the door at 9pm on a Sunday night. They are efficient in taking orders so the line moved fairly quickly. We got our orders fast too. This is hands down the best place for custard on the south-side. I wish they had more flavors though!
(5)Laura N.
After a late dinner at nearby Hooters (yes, I went there -- don't judge me) the giant, lit-up, swirly ice cream cone outside this building caught my eye and my husband insisted we swing by for a quick desert. After a tasteless dinner, an ice cream cone sounded wonderful. And it was! Our cones were generous servings of rich, creamy, delicious frozen custard. That's all we needed. The establishment itself has fun lighting, a drive-through, and plenty of seating. The Oak Lawn area isn't that exciting -- I'm glad they have this cute place to add some fun character to the town and offer residents a sweet treat.
(4)Jerry M.
So filthy good!!!
(5)Z B.
This location for Andy's was when I absolutely loved their frozen custard. I've been to many ice cream parlors, and this is one of my favorites on the list. I was nearby Andy's after a doctor appointment, so I decided to head there! The custard machines are about the same as some of the Culver's restaurants. It might look a bit weird, but it is a step to making awesome custard. The service was fast and pretty good. The staff do pretty good at timing. It only took 5 minutes to get a sundae and 2 concretes (for the people that were with me). That includes people behind me in the line. The food is the highlight. I get the Boot Daddy concrete which is what I get sometimes. I usually get my concrete from inside. The richness in the custard is a perfect amount. The flavor with the custard is very nice with the toppings. The toppings aren't mixed in with the custard (usually in "layers"), but it's not a big deal anyways. If your on the road and you find an Andy's Frozen Custard, go there. It may seem small, but it's worth the wait and the custard is fantastic. I obviously will come back here!
(5)Kay m.
This place is awesome!! My guilty pleasure. If you go through the drive through and order more than two items I suggest writing it down on a piece of paper so the guy running it to the window doesn't forget something :)
(5)Susan H.
Alexander Pope once said, "You eat, in dreams, the custard of the day." I'm quite fond of Mr. Pope and this whole custard-consuming dream business of his. Andy's was a welcome addition to the Oak Lawn area with their incredibly friendly and cheerful employees, a lightning-fast drive-thru and frozen, creamy concoctions. My favorites are the Snowmonster (with extra strawberries) and their Peppermint Concrete. The key lime pie has a nice bit of sour and is also enjoyable, although I wish it was less sweet and had bigger pie chunks mixed in. I'm sure they're going to read this and get right on that for me. Now I have my favorites for ice cream (nearby, insanely affordable and delicious Cupid's Ice Cream Fountain and the amazing Beverly Rainbow Cone), but this suits my custard cravings while providing jobs for local teens and giving couples and kids a place to sit back and enjoy a treat. Of course those couples and children are why I always use the drive-thru, but still it's good to see families and friends gathering and enjoying themselves...especially from a distance. I kid..I kid..*darts eyes* White Castle is next door and so I'll sometimes snag a bag of onion rings to dip in my custard, but only on rare occasion when I'm eMo and the world has crushed my hopes and dreams. Nom nom nom... I would have thrown them five stars, but for those of us who *sometimes* have to watch carbs or sugars, there are no specifically dedicated low-carb or sugar free options. I also feel they are a bit pricier than I'd care for...(this is why I LOVE Cupid's.) Still, I dig the variety here. A small is pretty filling, but if you get a bigger size, ask for a plastic lid in case you don't finish. I always freeze my unfinished portion to save cash for another cheat day. Then I can buy something else I want, but perhaps don't need, like a killer "Kiss" Snuggie. \m/
(4)Karen O.
I absolutely LOVE this place. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to get ice cream but here! I've never tasted the chocolate custard but the vanilla one is exceptional. I normally order a jackhammer with almond, chocolate chip, and raspberries down the middle; the BOMB! This place is a must try. You could order inside or through the drive thru. It takes a while to get to the person who takes your order, when going through the drive-thru, but they prepare your request very quickly. Variations to choose from go for days! Five star and nothing less!
(5)Hersh A.
I recently had a chance to check this place out for the first time. Had seen it before but never had a chance to go and it's not near me either. Anyway, I went in without checking any reviews. I liked its looks, set-up, atmosphere and all. Reminded me off an old-fashioned ice cream joint. Their menu looked good and prices were reasonable. I decided to go for their Concrete of the Month - Key Lime Pie where they add a whole slice of that Pie and blend it w/ their Vanilla frozen custard. The result was tasty but a bit too sweet flavored concrete. It felt like I was eating sugar. The texture was alright - creamy & smooth. I liked this place and would give it another try. 3.5 stars.
(3)Sweatytoothed M.
Mmm... always creamier and yummier than Culver's! ANDY'S IS THE BOMB-DIGITY! Whatever you order, get extr toppings and they'll end up putting it in the next size up at no charge to you! Simply great. SnowMonster with added cheesecake and pecans is my favorite! Go get it!
(5)Y.D. K.
I went here at least twice - the frozen custard here is deeeeeelish! You can have it with toppings, similar to a Dairy Queen's Blizzard, or you can have it in a cup, cone, or waffle cone. Probably what they offer here is at least what places like Dairy Queen or Tastee Freeze has and then more...and with their frozen custard, even more delicious and sinful. They also have products from Sprecher's, like Cream soda or Orange Dream. Can have it in a cup with ice, or in a 4-pack of bottles. Liquid sinful yum! This place handles their customers with very decent ease and efficiency: the first time I was there, got my humongoid cone with 3 scoops (I think I recall that) fairly quickly; the second time, there was a family of 8 - the 2 person crew there was a bit overwhelmed, plus 2 drive-ins too, but by the time they got to my buddy and me, they were still calm, cool,, and fairly happy. Wow, I would of thought they would be upset or at least a bit tired from that ordeal, but they managed that fairly well - never mind that thepeople in the line was waiting about 10 minutes, but its no big deal as they took care of us VERY well and quickly...I forgot if they gave me a discount or something, but being there for the frozen custard was reward enough and worth the trip. Will definitely come back here to this store, even if its far away! (I live in the NW burbs) A little word of warning - getting to this place by car is weird - not Andy's fault, but the flow of traffic of the parking lot for this strip mall is very odd. Don't go further and enter using the south entrance on Cicero Ave right by Marshall's. Going through White Castle seems like the better way.
(5)michael s.
Just visited Andys for the first time! Great mixed custard. Mint Oreo concrete was yummy. A lot of parking, great signage, and good customer service.
(4)Olivia T.
Their frozen custard is addictive. Only four stars because it's pricey! Very big menu though, if you have a sweet tooth and want something special, go here. Service is good as well.
(4)Francisco M.
The almond, chip, cherry jackhammer is amazing. The only place I go for ice cream. Highly recommended.
(5)April S.
Such a friendly, kind, and funny staff. Their ice cream is so fresh. Many different items in the many to choose from. I always have a hard time picking something because everything is so good. My favorites are snowmonster concrete and the brownie funky jackhammer.
(5)Kristin M.
I like Andy's but my parents are beyond obsessed with it. It gets ready crowded during the summer like most ice cream (sorry "custard!") places. The line for the drive through gets ridiculous and it does not move fast. I usually get a mint chocolate chip or some sort of peanut butter concoction. It's good but not much better then other places and is expensive.
(4)Dan B.
While driving through Oak Lawn down Cicero Avenue a giant spinning custard cone caught my attention. Why you might ask? Well, quite frankly because it was giant and spinning and that was enough to grab my attention and make me decide to stop in and try it out. Andy's Frozen Custard is an eye-catching place to say the least. My first observation is how sterile it is inside. It's extremely clean, and you see the custard being made with the various machinery, it almost reminds me a bit of Krispy Kreme, only with a different type of dessert as the focus. I decided to try a custard cone, and my friend also decided to try a custard cone. They were ready rather quickly and soon we were outside on some of the benches set up on the perimeter enjoying them. The custard cone I ordered was chocolate. The custard had a nice flavor, good texture and was pretty tasty. I'd definitely try it again, though I do think there are better ice cream, custard and frogurt places around than Andy's. I don't usually see frozen custard places around Chicagoland (yet they seem abundant around Saint Louis Missouri) so it definitely made this an interesting place to visit. Overall for the money this place didn't disappoint, nor did it amaze me. I'll give it a solid three stars for being A-Ok.
(3)Janelle H.
You will absolutely NEVER leave this place dissatisfied. Concretes are my faves. Apple or pumpkin pie FOR SURE! Get here fast and not slow!!
(5)Linh L.
Ok a new update... I really just have to give them a better rating since this IS Oak Lawn. Compared to other places where kids can hang out or late night ice cream... This is the place to go. The ambiance is better than Cold Stone and Baskin Robbins. The custard isn't the best, but maybe it's because it's healthier? Which I'm ok with. :)
(5)Tom R.
You know a place is good when you purposely go out of your way just to go there! When I lived in Oak Forest, it seemed like I was inventing reasons to go down Cicero Avenue. I will always and forever blame the Snow Monster concrete. My last trip to the area, I was lucky enough to be able to make time to stop in. Only bad thing - Weekend nights, the line is out the door....but it's worth the wait.
(5)Jim H.
They do not have a drive up speakers so they have an attendant standing out there right in front of the menu.. Just for me to drive up to the window to see the food preppers handling the food barehanded.. And playing with the banana as if it were a phallus.
(1)Mary M.
Favorite ice cream shop in town! Everything on the menu is delicious. The servers are young and exceptionally friendly.
(5)Nathasja T.
Sometimes you get up real early to drive 4+ hours to go to meetings in another state. And sometimes when you do this it is a 96 degree Friday, the kind of day you could fry an egg on the hood of your car. And SOMETIMES.. out of the blue and like a glorious mirage a gigantic ice cream cone appears! All this clearly cannot be coincidence, and as to not upset whichever divine powers led me to this place I decided it be best to investigate. Vanilla and chocolate custard await you at Andy's, unless you are looking to purchase a full pint - in that case flavors such as cherry and mint chip are available. All regular items are represented; concretes, sundaes, shakes and malts and something called a jackhammer. This is a concrete with an additional center of another topping of your choice. When walking in the kindof stark, contemporary interior is a nice flashback to old fashioned ice cream/ frozen custard parlors but brought into the '10s. The whole place, bathrooms included are spotless. So with 'only' 2 flavors of custard available, what is so special about Andy's? Both the vanilla and chocolate flavors are very clean tasting, rich in their own chocolate and vanilla way, and are not overly sweet. They serve seasonal concretes, such as peach (made with fresh peaches), and keylime pie - made with a full slice (!) of KL pie. I went for a peanutbutter sundae with chocolate custard, and Erin had the butterscotch vanilla sundae and a root beer. Both sundaes were delicious, and while I detest rootbeers' medicinal flavors Erin said it definitely hit the spot! The best part might just be the fact that this custard is made fresh hourly!! Fresh products with great ingredients - it does not get much better!

I always get concrete from Andy's. They have two base flavors: vanilla and chocolate. It oozes out in all of it's rich creaminess from the tumbler onto a silver ramp. There are a bajillion "toppings" to mix in and syrups to add. Last time, I got vanilla custard blended with pretzels and key lime syrup. YUM! It's so clean, clean, clean on the inside of Andy's. You think that other frozen dessert places are clean until you visit Andy's. They take cleanliness to an entirely new place. Andy's is dog gone POPULAR. There is a line on the inside and a line in the drive-through. What's weird is that Andy's would be pretty quiet if it weren't for the din of the crowd. There's no harsh blending noises or sounds from making delicious custard concoctions. My buddy and I both got smalls and thought that it was too much concrete. The person who gets a medium or a large are uber ambitious people. I plan to inquire about getting a child size during my next visit. I learned something the last time I was at Andy's that kinda peeved me a little bit. I chose my concrete from the menu suspended above the counter but THEN I saw that they had laminated menu right next to the register. The laminated menu had even more options (like pumpkin pie concrete). So now you and I both know to slow down when it's our turn at the register to take a glance at the supplemental menu on the counter.

Even though this is the highest-rated business on Yelp in the area, it's not as exciting compared to other frozen custard spots in the U.S. that have more to offer. But for Oak Lawn, I can see how pickings are slim and locals take what they can get. Only chocolate and vanilla flavors are available through this chain, so to get any type of variety, one should look to the long list of toppings and seasonal sundaes. On my most recent visit, my friend and I shared one of the classics - the chocolate Straw-ana. I am always a fan of chocolate-berry combos, so this hit the spot. But I wished the strawberries were a little more fresh/straightforward because they seemed to have a jam-like/too-much-maceration flavor and texture. The bananas were at least fresh. In the end, the custard quality is rich, creamy and satisfying. It would just be more interesting to have a few different flavors and/or more unique combos.

Not as good as 2 Sisters in Midlo, but the later hours are a definite bonus for people like me who sometimes don't even get dinner on the table til 9 pm. Service is quick and efficient even when this place is packed. Not always the most friendly, but what can you expect from a place that employees mostly high school kids who'd rather be out. They're expensive too - $11 for two small concretes. I suppose the price can be justified by the portion size except I just end up throwing half of it away. 2 Sisters will always be my first choice, but Andy's is a great backup plan.

Yummmmmy!!!!!! I first tried Andy's custard last summer on a trip to Arkansas. It was so delicious I think we had it maybe everyday were we on vacation. When i discovered this location i was very very excited!! By no means am I a lover of ice cream or sweets, but this place has made me a changed woman! I normally only get a vanilla cone or cup. But on my first trip to this location i decided to get a half sundae with strawberries. Such a delcious treat. The custard was smooth, and the strawberries juicy. What more can you ask for:) They are so much better than Culvers!

I am just like Courtney, never been a fan of custard, NEVER... Until the opening of Andy's in Bolingbrook. I love the fact that this location is closer to my in-laws place, mucho convenient. The two times that we stopped in while we were in town, it was not busy not until we were done placing our orders, we had perfect timing, score! I love that they have an indoor seating area, just because it's winter and there's snow on the ground, doesn't mean that people do not want frozen desserts. It's a cute place, you can see the fresh custard coming out of the machine. (See photo :) I like the fact that they only have 2 different flavors of custard, vanilla and chocolate, and then they add in the mixers that you want so there is a better chance of consistency, at least that's how I feel lol. My husband always gets the butter pecan concrete and I get the Carmel shake. The shake is my favorite and has got to be one of the better shakes that I've ever had. Nice balance of sweet and creamy. My husband's concrete was good too, they put real pecans in the concrete. I want Andy's to come out West, PLEASE???

Average tasting ice cream. Had the banana split @ 6$ I've had better from ice cream trucks. Walk in the place smelled funny like bleach with dirty water. Wont be going back.
